The Arcata Endeavor is a non-profit, community-supported, charitable organization.
We are committed to care for the poor.


The Arcata Endeavor (AE) is a 501(c)(3) public benefit not-for-profit and a United Way agency. For over 33 years Arcata Endeavor has served the poor in the City of Arcata .  Since 1999 Arcata Endeavor has provided supportive and essential services from its present location at the Arcata Service Center (ASC). Services have expanded substantially in response to the needs of the poor among the local community.  In the 2000 census it was recorded that 32.3% of the city population subsists below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

Present Services & Programs provided through Arcata Endeavor include:

                 Hot Meals

     New Directions – a non-adversarial outreach and intervention program targeting illegal encampments 

     Homeless Court

     Transportation Assistance Program

                 Comprehensive Recovery Services

     Extreme Weather Shelter

                 Shelter Referral (Arcata Night Shelter & Arcata House)
